Demonstrations

Instructions for submitting demonstration proposals

Demonstrations offer first-hand experience with information retrieval systems, whether advanced operational systems or research prototypes. The demonstration proposal (up to 1,000 words) should indicate how the demonstration illustrates new ideas, should provide the technical specifications of the system, and should include references to other literature. A one-page abstract describing each accepted demonstration will be published in the proceedings. The hardware, software, and network requirements should be indicated in a separate cover letter. Except in unusual circumstances, the conference can provide only a telephone line internet connection and a monitor for each demonstration. All other resources must be provided by the researchers running the demonstration. Demonstration proposals must be submitted to Evangelos Triantaphyllou or Padmini Srinivasan, Demonstrations Co-Chairs [see conference committee web page] by 28 February 2001.
