Textbook
The only textbook for this class is:
Stallings and Van Slyke Business Data Communications
(3rd. Ed.), Prentice Hall
I can suggest other references as well:
- The textbook has a web page. Please check
it out. It contains a lot of useful resources, such as an errata
page, URLs for other courses using this book, other slides,
etc.
- There are a number of books by the title "Business Data
Communications", most of which are less technical than this. If you
feel you need more explanation, you might try one of those, in
addition to contacting me.
- Stallings has another book, Data and Computer
Communications, which is a good bit more technical than our text.
If you are seeking more detail, this is a place to go, as is Fred
Halsall's book with a similar title.

that will enable you to get my lecture notes. Note that I will
publish them only after classes.
- I will add interesting URLs as I find them.
