Ciaran Trace is a second year doctoral student at the Department of Information Studies, University of California Los Angeles. Prior to joining the doctoral program Ciaran trained and worked as an archivist in Ireland. Since coming to UCLA Ciaran has worked as a research assistant on the Online Archive of California project evaluation run by Dr. Anne Gilliland-Swetland at the Department of Information Studies at UCLA. Ciaran is currently employed as Associate Director of the Institute on Primary Resources at Corinne A. Seeds University Elementary School, University of California Los Angeles. The Institute is a cooperative project between the Young Research Library, Department of Special Collections and UES to provide training to K-12 teachers in the use of primary sources. Ciaran is also currently a doctoral researcher for the InterPARES project.
Her research interests include the use of primary source materials in the K-12 community and the effect of electronic recordkeeping on archival theory and practice.
