  LIS Alumna Kim Gregory - Cybrarian, Librarian, Market Research Analyst  
     
  photo of Kim Gregory in her officeKim Gregory’s career as an information professional demonstrates all these titles. While working as a Paralegal for the law firm of Goldberg, Persky, Jennings & White, P.C., Kim obtained her Masters of Library and Information Science in 1998 from the School of Information Sciences and started her career as an Investment Librarian for Federated Investors, Inc. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As an Investment Librarian, she was responsible for the staff supervision, administration of vendor contracts, budget preparation and tracking, and arranging and monitoring user trials and research requests. Currently, Kim is a Senior Market Analyst at Federated Investors. She is responsible for research using the Internet and various financial databases, as well as Factiva, Lexis-Nexis and other subscriber databases on current market trends, specific product trends, and other pertinent topics. She has developed the Resource Library for the Market Research and Analysis Group and it is currently available to Federated employees via their Intranet. Kim maintains this website as well as updating with new information as it becomes available.

Kim is a member of the Special Libraries Association and has served as President of the Pittsburgh Chapter in 2002. In recognition of her outstanding service to the Chapter, leadership in support of Chapter strategies, and raising the visibility of the Chapter, she was the recipient of the 2003 Pittsburgh Chapter Award. Kim has also undertaken the responsibility for the Chapter’s website and continues her work with mentoring students.
She is a great cheerleader and is well known for her enthusiasm for our profession. These talents are very helpful in her alumni activities as a member of the School of Information (SIS) Council. She is a member of the International Who’s Who Online.

In addition to her professional activities, Kim has devoted her time to community activities. She is a volunteer instructor for the Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council, teaching computer basics and basic Internet skills. Kim’s favorite hobby is travel and she has been very busy squeezing in as many trips as she can to California, Florida, and Colorado as well as attending conferences in San Antonio and New York. She is also a wine aficionado.
