To provide annual cash award to student presenting the best dissertation proposal defended in the of Library and Information Sciences Program and will provide support for the winner's research.  A plaque with the winners' names will be hung permanently in the School.

 
     
  E. Blanche Woolls Endowed Scholarship for Library Scholars  
     
 

To provide a full or partial scholarship (depending on the total value of the endowment fund and the interest earned annually) to be given to a student enrolled in the LIS doctoral program.

 
     
  Elva S. Smith Endowed Scholarship  
     
 

To be used by the School of Information Sciences to award either partial or full scholarship as determined by the appropriate selection committee.

 
     
  Elva S. Smith Scholarship in Children's Library Services  
     
 

To provide support as a supplement to tuition scholarships.

 
     
  Jennifer and Eric Spiegel Book Endowment Fund  
     
 

To support full-time undergraduate students in the Information Science Program in School of Information Sciences and in the Communications Department in School of Arts and Sciences.  Student must have 3.00 or higher GPA, be sophomore, junior or senior, and enrolled full time.

 
     
  The Dr. Joan Brest Friedberg Scholarship  
     
 

To provide scholarships based on specific criteria. 

 
     
  Margaret Hodges Quasi-Endowed Scholarship Fund  
     
 

In memorial of the late Margaret Hodges.  To provide scholarships for outstanding students in the Masters of Library Science Program who are pursuing a career as a Children's Librarian.

 
     
  E. J. Josey Scholarship for Minorities in Library Science  
     
 

In honor of E. J. Josey. To provide scholarships for African American graduate students in Library and Information Science.  Recipient must be enrolled in Master of Library Science Program and indicate potential for academic excellence and leadership in the profession. 

 
     
  K. Subramanyam Scholarship for Library and Information Sciences  
     
 

To provide a $300-$400 annual award to a Library and Information Science student as a reward for academic excellence.

 
     
  K. Leon Montgomery Assistantship in Telecommunications  
     
 

To provide annual assistantship to full-time student enrolled in the Masters of Telecommunications Program.  Preference given to students who achieve academic excellence through coursework, research, international focus, and leadership. 

 
     
  Frank B. and Anne J. Sessa Scholarship  
     
 

To be used for scholarship aid to students who have demonstrated high academic achievements and an interest in pursuing careers in public library science.

 
     
  Sara Fine Institute for Interpersonal Behavior and Technology  
     
 

To be used annually to bring a distinguished speaker from information science, philosophy of science, psychology, or other field related to the machine-human connection to speak at the institute.

 
     
  Belle Sochatoff Student Loan Fund  
     
 

To provide emergency assistance to deserving students.

 
     
  Faculty Fellowship - Master of Science in Telecommunications  
     
 

To provide assistance in support of the Master of Science Telecommunications program.

 
     
  Tung-Li and Hui-Hsi Yuan Family Award  
     
 

To provide support to graduate students (M.S. and Ph.D. candidates) in the Library and Information Science program in the School of Information Sciences as determined by the chair of the of LIS Program.

 
     
  Dr. Kate Kolish Memorial Loan Fund  
     
 

To provide support for emergency loans to students.

 
     
  Lancour, Immroth, Brewster Endowment Fund  
     
 

To provide support for Library and Information Science programs and activities in international and comparative librarianship.  Expenditures are made at the discretion of the Dean and may cover supplies, travel, books and awards.
