Speaker Bio : Ken Klingenstein is senior staff of Internet2 and project director of the Internet2 Middleware and Security Initiatives. He coordinates activities intended to build a secure network and interoperable infrastructure that will enable inter-institutional resource sharing. He is on loan to Internet2 from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he was director of Information Technology Services for 14 years, responsible for overall management of media, networking, and computing at the university. Active in national networking beginning in 1985, Ken has served as chair of the Federal Networking Council Advisory Committee and given presentations to the House Subcommittee on Technology, the Kennedy School of Government, and the National Research Council. He received his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley.
