Pittsburgh Records Managers Speak with SAA@Pitt members
On Thursday, February 13, two local records managers shared their experiences with the members of SAA@Pitt.  The first speaker, William Ainsworth, Jr. of Buchanan Ingersoll, provided insight into records management in a legal environment.  He spoke of streamlining processes so as to better serve his clientele in the fast-paced legal realm.  The second speaker, Chris Nettrour of Federated Investors, offered a glimpse of the more mundane side of records management, detailing her work with arrangement and organization of her company's records, space issues, and her continuing education.  Each speaker supplemented their enlightening and informative sessions with handouts (see below).

Dr. Cox to speak at Library of Congress
Dr. Richard Cox will be giving a talk at the Library of Congress on March 7, entitled "Records, Documents and Stuff in the Digital Era."  The talk will explore how the technology boom has brought records and information to the fore of everyday life, and how archivists and records managers have had the chance to reinvent the manner in which they deal with those documents, thus helping to shape a new "Information Age."  As part of the Library of Congress's Luminary Lectures series, Dr. Cox's talk will be cybercast via RealPlayer.
