1. Getting Started

MATLAB, the "MATrix LABoratory" program, is an interactive program for numerical computation and data visualization. MATLAB enables scientists and engineers to use matrix-based techniques to solve problems, without having to write program in traditional languages like C and Fortran. There are many different toolboxes available which extend the basic functions of MATLAB into different application areas. MATLAB is supported on Unix, Macintoch, and Windows platforms. For more information on MATLAB, contact the Mathworks.
